About Me

Cynthia Roberts is a Therapist, Consultant, and Instructor who specializes in Attachment and Trauma. Cynthia has overt twenty years of experience in the child development field and has been a practicing Therapist for fifteen years.  She is a graduate of Oregon State University specializing in Community Counseling and is certified as a Circle of Security and Emotionally Focused Therapy Provider.  She also practices Internal Family Systems (IFS) and utilizes concepts from somatic practices, EMDR, and other body based professions.  Cynthia maintains a private practice in Eugene Oregon, as well as provides training and consultation.

Cynthia (Cindy) has co-taught several classes in the Interpersonal Neurobiology program through Portland State University with Bonnie Badenoch, PhD, LMFT.  The Interpersonal Neurobiology field involves cutting edge science about how the brain develops within relationships.  Much of human suffering can be explained by how the brain stores fear.  Cindy uses this knowledge to help clients learn about their bodies, their brains, and why/how information has been stored in their brain/body.  This often helps clients transform (integrate) memories and emotions.

Cynthia has been fortunate to participate in several exciting grant opportunities. S he coordinated the Lane County team of professionals who were a part of a state-wide grant with Dr. Bruce Perry. This grant is teaching clinicians to use the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) to tailor therapeutic interventions to a child’s brain development and needs.  See http://www.childtrauma.org/ima...  for more information about NMT.

Cynthia is a personable, compassionate therapist who will provide a safe haven for clients to work through their past/present relationship needs. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
